    .308,.270, or 7mm-08. Can't decide

I'm looking at buying a new rifle. Can't decide the caliber. I want a good all around rifle that will be my go to gun. I plan on using it for everything from deer to moose. I already own a .300 WSM so I'm not looking for another cannon. Too many options are out there and I can't make up my mind

Being you have a 300 wsm .... I dont think ya can go wrong with a TON of options for loads with the 30 cal .308 ... killed all bear, moose and deer Ive pointed my several .308's at ....... dozens over many years, load up or load down, short action for youngsters or new comers ..... almost the same punch as a 30/06 very under estimated caliber

between those three I'd go 308. It nips on the heels of the 30-06 and has a bit more punch than the 270 or 7-08 for big bear or moose/elk, shoots flat enough for most hunting opportunities

Can't go wrong with any of them I would be inclined to look at the 7mm-08 first or a 270 Win.

I dont consider the 300wsm a cannon I consider it a general purpose cartridge like the 30-06, 270,308 etc but if you want something smaller then I would go 270 or 260 or even 25-06. or how about investing in reloading that way you can really take advantage of different loads in the WSM .

How about a .257 Weatherby Mag? long range, flat shooting, good in windy cond.
A little further apart from the calibres you listed, and the gun you already own...
    Not a Moose cal. though...
