I'd go with the 08. you can load 100gr. bullets up to 180gr.

Oh No!!! Who ever is hacking into our P/C's got in yours I see! They must have "Erased" 30-06 and 300 Magnum's as your first choice! That's after you sell that relic of a 300 Short Mag of course! Sooo, ya, go with the Ott six, and the 300 Mag when you want to pack a real Rifle in the bush! And,no no no, nope, I don't need anymore praise for helping out a fellow hunter! And Have fun out there this fall, I mean that!

I like the .308, lots of ammo around and you can find it in most gas stations if you happen to leave your ammo at home.

As you already have a 300 WSM, it sounds like you want a lighter recoiling, but capable alternative. I'd recommend a 260, 257 Roberts, 25-06, or if you reload, a 6.5 Creedmoor.

Because you have a .300 for the bigger stuff I would go with the 7-08 in a light weight rifle.

7mm-08 , great all around caliber that you can shoot all day and hunt just about any big game in B.C. with the exception of G.bear and Bison , but you already have the 300 for that.
