Annnddd..... we're back!
HuntingBC.ca is over 10 years old and this is the longest outage that we've ever had. It's never our goal to deprive our loyal members of your (often too much) hunting chat, but sometimes it's unavoidable.
What happened?
Last Thursday I attempted to do some minor cleanup that resulted in lots of troubles. You could call it a snowball effect of sh*t rolling downhill. We had been on our old server for 7 years and things fell apart (with an uptime of just shy of 5 years). I had started putting together a plan to move to a new server and too all the necessary updates to accommodate the move, but with the failures, it had to happen right then. Part of this failure resulted in us losing about 2 days worth of data (if you're missing posts, messages, etc, that's why).
What's new?
Server and all associated software: this means speed improvements, some minor updates to the forum, and also new features in the gallery.
What's next?
For now, I will be spending the next few days watching these forums like a hawk and squashing bugs as I see them come up. Please let me know here if you see anything wrong. After Christmas, we will be putting together a long term plan for HBC for sustainability and feature improvements.
Thanks for being patient while we went through some "growing pains".
