    Kamloops news. RCMP/Hunter

    http://www.cfjctv.com/story.php?id=21704

saw this one the news this today thought id share.
I know the hysteria surrounding guns right now is running pretty high in light of recent events but this is ridiculous. whoever decided to call the police needs to get their mind checked out.
but we all want to know who was it haha, so fess up. makes for a good story.

The hunter and his brother were probably going to Chase. Heard there is a mammoth buck living out there.

It was probably the camo that triggered the alarm.

You could dress in an old mackinaw, black wool pants and one of those old plaid caps with the big ear flaps.

This is from http://www.kicker.ca/ I always find the crime briefs to be interesting.
Aug 15 at 6:30 pm, Chase
    RCMP responded to a report
of a male pointing a firearm at
a couple of people at the historic
    Flume Trail at Adams
    Lake. The witnesses involved
    told police that they had
    planned to go fishing. When
    they pulled into the parking
lot, there was a man leaning
    against a vehicle yelling frantically
    and asking who they
were and telling them to get
out. He was holding a firearm
described by the witnesses as a
black long barrel rifle with a
scope which also had a bi-pod
    attached. The perpetrator advanced
    towards the witnesses
    while grabbing bullets from
    his shirt pocket and loading
    the gun. The terrified victims
fled the scene as fast as possible
    and called police.
    The suspect is described
as Caucasian, 6 ft. tall, approximately
    230 pounds, 50 to
60 years of age with brown/
    gray hair. The suspect vehicle
    is a red /maroon Chevrolet
    Impala.
    When police arrived at the
    scene, the suspect and vehicle
    were gone. Chase RCMP ask
the public to be cautious if you
    see this suspect and/or vehicle
and to call police if you have
    any information.

ive heard of a few hunters having this issue in the last couple years. I try to have my gun in a case whenever I transport just incase. Wouldn't make for a good morning being shook down by the cops

Unfortunately the rcmp's response tactics to any firearms related call wont change and some guy waiting for his brother to pick him will get shot at some point by hyped up cops. Yes i know cops have a sh*tty job sometimes but overreaction is happening all the time...

And they shouldn't. If I was a cop, I sure wouldn't want to be taking my guard down for call of a guy with a rifle. They don't get specifics over the radio to mitigate the situation. From the story this dude was on the street with his gun. We know the gun laws -- you are not allowed to do that.

[and I don't know the full story -- if the gun was in a case or not -- or why he had to be standing on a corner with it to begin with instead of his driveway]

Some of the firearm laws are stupid, but you have to use your head.
