Savage accutrigger is usually pretty good. There is a place that stocks timneys in Kelowna for about $150.
If I were buying a new non-accutrigger savage, I'd be planning on a Rifle Basix trigger, the Sav 1 to be exact. If it was an older savage with the "three-screw" factory trigger, they are adjustable to a pretty decent crispness and down to 3lbs pull - low enough for a hunting rifle IMHO. Check with Jerry at Mystic Precision for aftermarket savage stuff - he's in Summerland.
Pretend hunter.
If it's got a Accutriger I would wait and try it. It took a little getting used to but I find it's a nice trigger. If your looking to get anything for a Savage Jerry Teo is the guy to talk to. Just Google Mysticprecision

Problem is easy to fix........Sell Chevy buy Dodge problem fixed..................
I also put the SAV-1 riflebasix trigger on my Savage Axis. It is adjusted down to about 1.5 lbs where the factory trigger must have been 7 lbs. Best upgrade I made after swapping that scope that came with it.
You can find online trigger modification techniques to lighten up the notoriously stiff Savage Axis triggers.
I haven't done it but calvin L has.
