A Point in the Right Direction

    Hey Everyone,

I have recently moved down to the lower mainland (Burnaby) from Kelowna and am looking for some relatively close areas that would be good to get out to and push some bush. It is my third season hunting and as of yet I have only been out a handful of times in the interior hunting for deer and turkeys and don't know anyone down here who can show me the ropes. I'm not looking for anyones honey holes but would like to know about any areas that are relatively car accessible that would be good to get out and hike around in. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Squamish or Harrison/Chilliwack/Hope is your best bet if you don't want to venture too far.

Sit on any major road a drive for 2 hours. You should be there.
Read the regs for the area and municipal bylaws

Having said that, you're still better off making a longer trip out if you want to be more successful.

Yeah, I got a nice pig of a 5 point buck near Chilliwack Lake when I lived down there, but that was back in the 80s.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. So it wouldn't be worth my time to go anywhere above Mission?

I've been up to Slvester Road. It's fine if you just want to explore but finding a deer? You'd have to do reallllly deep. I think I drove a good 20-25 km up that road and still saw human activities.
