Ya....my Dad has started whacking geese closer to the city but growing up we'd always be up in the area between Riverton and Hecla. Been in BC for 20 years and only have been back once to waterfowl....and that was about 18 years ago.

MB, Winnipeg is surrounded by wheat, beans, barley, and oat fields. Hunting starts on the other side of the Floodway. All you need is permission from land owners.

Yup.....that I know as we used to hunt up near Stonewall as well. Back then we'd always hit Riverton as we had lots of room to hunt for quackers and honkers.

My Dad is retired from Department of Natural Resources.....he has been fortunate to have some good permission in recent years with the limits being upped to hunt close in to the city.

Yup!!! Similar to wild ducks in that you do NOT want to overcook them. These ones in MB that are flying from field to field and munching on crops are tasty!!
