    Good Day for Blues

My buddy and I took the dogs out. We got 9 blues and let a few go for seed stock. Region 3. The dogs put up 17 this morning and I managed my limit.

Nothing is more fun than walking open timbered side hills with a dog who knows how to hunt blues. I had a big Golden Retriever who was a natural hunter, when he saw the shot gun he would just quiver with excitement. I had to make a special collar for him with lots of flagging tape because he was once mistaking for a cougar by another hunter. He was better in his later years 'cause he didn't range out so far. He was also really good at spotting them from the seat of the truck. He's been gone a couple seasons now, I'm still on the look out for his replacement. So far it's been a banner year for chickens, we were in region 3 last weekend for one day and 2 of us brought back 8 out of 19 we saw, yup sure do miss that dog.
