    Last minute zeroing goes wrong

I went out into the bush today to finally sight in my brand new vortex crossfire ii 6-18x44 adjustable objective. I have it mounted on a savage axis 30-06. I have put plenty of rounds through the gun and it shoots awesome. after 3 shots I got it bang on at 25 yards so I moved out to 100 and squeezed a shot and after that that shots seemed to be going all over the place. in the end I managed to get a decent group at 100 but after 16 rounds as soon as I shot the whole scope went blurry ad unfocused I had the ao set at 100 so to get it clear I turned it back to 50, the next shot same thing the scope went unfocused so I turned it down even more, to around thirty and then it was focused again and stayed that way for the rest of the day. with vortex's warranty I will just get another one but it won't come in time for season and I am curious if anybody knows what is going on or if they have had the same thing happen tho them? I am shooting 165 g hornady gmx so I don't think it's the ammo.

I just read a bunch or reviews...you aren't the only one having this kind of problem, but not everyone does it seems. one guy was told his gun is too much for that scope...he was shooting a .308. For $200 (I assume thats the price range?) I wouldn't be buying and scope with an adjustable objective or turret. Take it back, get your $ back, but something else...spend more

    Another vortex lemon story.
But then what do I know? I'm just a lowly woodcutter.

Ya, what they said, Crossfire is not quite enough scope for a bigger gun, I have a diamondback 3x9 on my 300 win mag, and have absolutely no issues with it. It's $239 for the diamondback. So for a few dollars more, I have zero issues, and I'm dead on at 200 yrds, well my gun is, the shooter isn't all that good though

    Cheers

Problem with a Vortex? Who would have thunk it...
