    Corbett lake in Merrit

Hey guys I was thinking of going to corbett lake which is a private lake to do some fishing, has anyone here gone there? can you please tell me how it was. I plan on renting the cabins they have there and was wondering what the fish were like, I plan on fishing for rainbow trout.

I only heard there are big fish in there and its paid to catch them.

Never went myself. I fish to relax, not fill up someone's pocket while emptying mine.

Been a long time since we stayed at the cabin and had a great relaxing weekend of fishing there. But I recall lots of big fish.

I've been fishing it since the very late 80's.
back when the public could launch a boat off the highway.
great fish in there, but you are pretty much catching someone's pets.
    petey basically hand-raised them.

You may want to check it out.
If you are competent with the way of the fly you should do well.
Have landed numerous trout well north of 10 lbs there.
    Heres a few......

When are you going? late fall, minnow fly on floating line is deadly slaying blackwaters. Stomachs were full of dragon nymphs.

This is from an area lake not Corbett but close. We were getting ice on the eyes. No fish under twenty inches were caught

    My flies of choice.
    #14 grey chronie
    #18 pale immature scud

These are bombed down on a high density type6 sinking line and slowly scratched along bottom on the edge of the abrupt drop offs.
Double anchored parallel to the drop.
Boat angle and position is key.
Tiny strips.....you twitch the fly in methodically.

Last time I fished it was a few yrs back in late July in 30+ degrees.
Peter told us that the fishing was dead slow due to the heat.
Took me a few hrs to figure things out but once I switched to super fast sink line, down graded my patterns and fished deep along the bottom we started to light it up. We took some lovely trout to 14lbs that day.
