The longest was a bull moose at the top of a cut . 517 yards with a 300 win mag 180 grain. one shot . Aimed just above his back and hit him just above the heart
I tend to have more of what I would call "close encounters".
So far, the longest I had to make was 365 yards (range finder to know that).
Once considered taking this black bear which had the most amazing color, a real "orange" hide.
Big old boar too.
The range was 600 yards, and have a scope that I can adjust to that.
But, the wind was going pretty good, and would have had to shoot across a river, so I wonder how much different the
wind would have made, as the wind was left to right, but the river flowed right to left.
Just didn't feel right, so I left the bear alone and just watched him finally make his way up and out of site.
