saw a turkey in reg 2

I was working this morning, was about 08:45, and I hear the "box call" sound of a turkey. I paused for a sec, and thought.. "nahh.. too much wild tv".
then I hear it again, and the full gobble. I started to chuckle and though I was losing my marbles. So I go to a cedar hedge that was on the side of the farmers driveway where \I could see the farm house next door.
Sure as I stood there was a turkey walking in the lawn. it came from the field I guess. I could see the big red barn full of cows.. so this was obviously a dairy farm.
Do people have wild turkey as pets?
Get it on the ground, that's when the work starts

I know of a couple of different farmers who keep traditional birds around as pets.

You can go to art knapp a garden centre in surrey and buy a turkey if you wanted to, it'll probably be the farmers dinner at some point I'd imagine.

I was in mission doing a job and there were turkeys in pens on the adjacent property. they were really ugly. The guy said they end up in the grocery store. The one I saw in yarrow was not in a pen and was beautiful like the guys are hunting in Cranbrook and Kelowna areas, and was just walking around. No pen, I don't even recall seeing a fence. Only a ditch separated the farms.. I took a pic of it with my cell phone, but the sun was in my face, looks like a black blob, its hard to make it out in the pic.
I just haven't ever seen a gobbler on the loose before lol
