    Awesome pics! My expectations are exceeded once again when opening one of your photo threads. What's with those hard-horned bull elk though? Shouldn't they have long shed by now?

    Curly Top, That was just a small 'almost yearling'. I was there in mid Jan and the winter didn't seem overly tough then. Most of the other 'almost yearlings' were just a tad smaller than the mature cows. A few were just runty but doing just fine. That one looks scruffy because it had just down poured before I took that pic.
    Rob, These pics were taken in Jasper.
    Landphil, All the mature bulls had dropped within the last few weeks. I saw several spikes and raghorns still packin'. Not too odd for there. I have seen them still packin into May before.
