    Capercaillies (giant Grouse)

Anyone ever hunt these. When I had guided years ago I had clients tell me about them. Never really thought much about them until I saw this one in a museum in Scotland. I put a water bottle next to it to show size comparison. Would love to see one of these in the wild.

Those would be a blast to hunt, I believe they can top 8 lbs.

Very cool! That would make winter hunting far more interesting.

That mounted one looks more like a raptor than a grouse, lol.

Apparently the largest one recorded was 15.9lbs...turkey sized..

    Lionhill,
Sweet video. Certainly looks like a fun hunt.

    Noahdawg,
Yes, Kelvingrove does indeed have some amazing stuff. We spent a good amount of time there. The art exhibit was very impressive. Crazy seeing originals from the Masters up close.
