I have a 12x16 wall tent and have been using a Cabelas light weight woodstove for the past bunch of years. The stove is reaching the end of it's life and it's time to replace it.
It is light weight and the pipe folds into the stove. I use it both in the wall tent and under a tarp for coastal hunting. Light weight is a must, as sometimes it travels by boat.
The stove loads from the front, and it great for what it is. Nice heat and will dry my gear. It won't burn all night, and you need poke at the fire every half hour or so. The kids love making toast and grilling meat on top of it. (put tinfoil down first).
Has anyone had both this model and the oval shaped top loading woodstove? I am looking for a comparison. I looked at one in Wholesale Sports. Is the top loading a pain in the a$$? I assume you have to cut the wood pretty small? Let me know the good/bad.
I realize that it is a cheapo, but the light weight is a must. I don't care if it doesn't burn all night.
Thanks!
