    gun rack

well i figured where better a place to post about a gun rack than here.I have a 96 dakota club cab, and want to put a gun rack over the back window for those lazy road hunting days, the kind where youre hunting chicken with two hunters and a dog and need a place for all those guns( i know, a full size is the ticket) and maybe even a nice little meat buck for the freezer, if the little bugger decides to present himself. I dont want a suction cup piece of crap for my window, but rather, something that mounts rather solidly. I am most definatley not opposed to making my own thing, and am presently entertaining making my own out of a nice piece of walnut. Plans, places to buy, or ideas on the subject are appreciated

Its bin a loooong time since I seen one of those.

Maybe in the land down under....USA.
Maybe some one in the 60 n over crowd has one tucked away in the garage (?).

Couldn't hurt to throw a wanted ad in the buy-sell...

    Re: gun rack

GOod thread. I have been thinking about this as I just refinished my stock after all the abuse it took last season in the pu. I was thinkin mounting an ATV holster kinda like this http://www.wholesalesports.com/onlin...E3EF89C71.jvm1
in the box of the truck that was it is easy to get out of truck and get your gun from the box. FOund it was difficult to pull gun out of truck safely especially when hunting with a buddy. Anyone ever tried this?

Has anyone tried the overhead security rack....that kinda worries me....hit a bump and your gun fall on your head.
