The second one is a new design...Turkish style, 45" strung, 40# @28" draw. What's special about this one is that top grade Ton Kin bamboo was used on this one. This bow is extremely fast but shoots very smoothly.

Hey Rollingrock , great concept of shorter recurves that are working pieces of art . Can you provide more detail on the bamboo used as I notice no nodes .
Cheers to Alex and You .....

Wonderful bows and probably worth every penny.
if people of color do it, it's "affirmative action" "civil rights", etc, etc. If a bunch of white folks do it....its "racist" and "hate speech" quote Willyqbc

    Hi Ken

This is Tonkin bamboo, supposedly the best bamboo in this world. Some top grade fishing rods are made of this type of bamboo. Only three countries claim to produce this type of bamboo, Vietnam, Cambodia and China. But the real one can only be found in certain area in China. There is a bamboo dealer in Chilliwack who claims to carry these. We took a look at it...garbage. We know exactly where to find these bamboo, but we finally decided to purchase from a US dealer cuz it wasn't cost efficient to import small quantities.

But to use these bamboos to make limbs, it took Alex some creativity. He finally came up with a special way of laminating the raw bamboo material before it can be used on a bow. That's why you don't see any nodes. In certain ways the layer of bamboo acts like another piece of high grade fiberglass. But it takes more time to make a bamboo bow. LOL

Absolute beauties both of them. I'm actually thrilled that I found another bowyer close to home. I want a custom Mongolian for myself soon enough, something like 80#
