    Calling in coyotes

For the last two evenings I've been calling coyotes with my buddy on his ranch with a cottontail distress each evening we've had coyotes barking on the neighbouring property maybe 500 yards away and we can not get them to come over. The wind was good, everything seemed good any tricks to bring em in once they are barking

Switch up your calls. Try a howler to get them listening, then a distress.

If they've been called in with your call and weren't killed, then they've been trained.

Try a different call. Cow elk call was working too well for me a month ago, dam dogs kept coming in instead of elk.

Pick up a Randy Anderson video, preferably "Calling all Coyotes 2", and watch it several times. Barks and howls are awesome when combined with distress or on their own.

X2 with starting with a coyote locator or Howell, then switch do a distress. Iv herd pups in distress works well, but haven't tried it yet

If the rabbits sounds aren't working, you gotta sound like another dog! Howls, Challenge barks etc.

Like said before call like another dog with some distress calls.
Sometimes switching it up completely works as well.
We used a feeding mallard call about a month ago. when we were out in the blind.

pretty safe bet that they've spotted you.... best to make a new plan and relocate, get closer to them if you can and start with coyote group howl... set your caller up 50 yds behind you and off to one side....not overly loud and only do it once... if they don't call back or come in immediately...sit until dark and then sneak out....
