Legal SHOOTING hours? Not hunting!
Is there a regulation that any of you can point me to in the Canada Firearms Regs that shows the legal hours (if any) that you can discharge a rifle in butt-Fxxk nowhere? Someone asked me today if they can check their scope with a target outside of legal hunting hours. I’m picturing a deserted gravel pit beyond 400m from a highway on the way to an early morning hunt, with LED lights on a target at 100 yards type thing.

It's fine, fire away at 3am if you'd like.

Hunting... 1 hour before sunrise, 1 hour after sunset.
Not hunting.. no regs.. fire away
Re: Legal SHOOTING hours? Not hunting!
Thanks guys. I know the hunting regs fine, just wasn’t sure if there was a “recreational” time limit.
I know there isnt in Mexico as the AKs were going off plenty at 12:00 am on Jan 1...

Dont think the mexicans were sighting in their ak's... just sayin

Hmmm. That’s annoying. I know Alberta’s hunting laws transfer to the firing of firearms all throughout the yearly hunting times. You can’t discharge a firearm regardless of purpose, past legal light.
I tend end to agree with this. As we have some guys behind our home with a recreation property who party and shoot all though the night. It’s crazy.
If one can’t see, I struggle to see how shooting in the dark can be deemed safe.
My my opinion of course.
