Hot opening day for blacktails
Holy smoke!
28 degrees forecast for opening day Thursday and almost as hot on the 11th.
Except for the first couple hours of daylight I sure wouldn't expect to see any deer during the day.
What do you think?
Maybe during the last 1/2 hour of light.

Ain’t gonna stop the road hunters, that’s why god created the air conditioner.
Re: Hot opening day for blacktails
We got ours around 3PM on Friday and it was around 30 degrees. They were poking their heads out of the timber all morning early afternoon. A couple weeks prior it was super hot as well they were chilling out in a meadow all day feeding and bedding randomly. From the trailcams I checked, does were moving around during the day too.. .same thing with years prior running lots of cameras. They really don't seem bothered by the heat.... out randomly throughout the day.
It seems that early season you can catch them moving around any time of the day regardless of the heat. I wouldn't let the head discourage you at all... just something to consider what you will need to do to treat the meat if you get a deer down.

I've shot a couple early season blacktails mid day in T shirt weather. Bring lots of water and go get em.
