What disease does this deer have?
I found this shot and abandoned deer carcass last year. It was covered in these strange lesions. Whoever had shot it had started skinning it out then just quit and left it for the ravens, probably because of the weird loonie-sized runny growths on it.

That’s for sure deer Covid19
Re: What disease does this deer have?
Could it be from ticks? I have seen some weird growths on moose that we have found dead.
Re: What disease does this deer have?
looks like fibromatosis. probably (was) edible
Re: What disease does this deer have?
Have seen similar on deer ... equivalent of skin tags on humans . Nothing to worry about
Re: What disease does this deer have?
The provincial wildlife veterinarian says these are caused by a papillomas virus and the meat is perfectly safe to eat. Search the following document for papillomas.

I think I shot a moose once. Couldn't find a bullet hole lol. Anyways there wasn't a ounce of fat on it and its shit was yellow and runny. I didn't want anything to do with it but the ol man was more then happy to take it home and eat it. I did talk to fw about it and they couldn't say for sure but figured it might of had alpalpha poisoning. They were gonna give me a new tag but I didn't take them up on the offer.
