Almost looks like mange to me. Pretty thin coat, even for summer plumage...
Still a 'good' woof though.
The photos were taken after being drug through brush, water, a creek and then more water and mud. She wasn't in bad condition for being a loner and I don't believe she had mange but ugly nonetheless.
Don't understand how the huggers can refer to them as beautiful in summer at all. Much rather look at the calves and fawns they prey upon.
Skinny? Looks mal nourished to me.

If she went through a creek, that would definitely explain the drowned rat look. :)
