Ambleside Shore Fishing - Reg question
Haven't really done any tidal water fishing and thought I'd try out Ambleside beach fishing. I tried looking at the regs, and found what looks like two different "sets".

What's the difference and which one applies? I would say the former as it seems that the second link refers to rivers (freshwater). However, I thought Freshwater fishing is governed by a different body (http://www.fishing.gov.bc.ca/)??
Re: Ambleside Shore Fishing - Reg question
What streets allow beach access west of Ambleside and Dundarave?
I'm looking for some kelp.
Re: Ambleside Shore Fishing - Reg question
Salmon in freshwater are regulated by the federal Sportfish reg's and other species fall to the province. You basically have to check both rule books if fishing in freshwater, especially if salmon are your target. AND check that there are no additional in-season restrictions on salmon.
If you're strictly fishing in tidal waters then figure out which subarea you will be in (from the map that comes up with your link) then look at the tabs to see if there are any restrictions/closed area in that zone. I'm not familiar where Ambleside is but for example if you wanted to crab fishing in 28-6, and you click on the crab tab you'll find that 28-1 thru 28-5 is listed as open for dungeness but not 28-6, but 28-6 is open for red rock crabs. Also make sure you check the other "restrictions" and area descriptions that follow the limit section.

Ahhh that was the missing piece. Thanks. No escaping bureaucracy I guess.
