Re: Last pair of bino's I'll ever buy, under $2k?
Swaro EL HD 10x42 it is...
Started out comparing the conquest HD, Razor, trinovid and to my eyes the best buy would be the zeiss. Also the cheapest of the 3.. Jumped up to the swaro SLC, great glass and worth the extra $. Wasn't crazy about the zeiss victory or Geovid HD-R, bulky and didn't seem much better on the eyes than the SLC. Ultravid is nice glass but prefer the feel, ergonomics and eyecups of the EL, optically comparable. Should be noted that this is purely my opinion while looking through them in less than desireable hot/sunny conditions and no low light to compare brightness. No offense to others that have the other products, can't really go wrong with any of them I bet. I'm happy with the Swaro's, my top end pick with the conquest HD being my pick for mid range.
Can't wait to get into the mountains. Thanks for all the input.
Cheers

Hey 264 Win Mag what was your thoughts on the Vortex Razor's ? RJ
Re: Last pair of bino's I'll ever buy, under $2k?
They were the first pair I tried out. Initially I thought they were excellent, until I got to the swaros. The Razor had a nice feel, definitely quality built and on par with the Leica trinovid optically. But personally I thought the zeiss conquest HD was better glass than both to my eyes, and a couple hundred cheaper.

Any one have any experience with MAVEN binoculars? They also have a lifetime warranty
Re: Last pair of bino's I'll ever buy, under $2k?
Hmm can't even count the amount of binos I have tried..from friends, clients et all..I sat for 1 plus hours in Kamloops many moons ago..
Tried Swaro.
Tried Leica
Tried west German zeiss
Vortex did not make it to the final 3.
In the end to my eyes..the clarity..sharpness..color and edge to edge was best in the Swarovski 8.5 x42...
I still use these binos.
Sold my spotting scope for Swarovski also.
Never regretted it.
Never found anything better to me.
Buy once...cry once.

I have the Maven B1 in 10x42. Haven’t compared them to the high end binos but they’ve been good for me.

I have the Maven C1 in 10x42. The glass is superb!
