Entire Skeena Watershed closed indefinitely for Chinook and no one seems to care
Fisheries and Oceans Canada | Fishery Notices (dfo-mpo.gc.ca)
Haven't seen a discussion on this anywhere on the internet. Thoughts?

Interesting, I haven't heard a peep from the guides up north on the Skeena.

Anyone want to buy a riverboat?
Re: Entire Skeena Watershed closed indefinitely for Chinook and no one seems to care
But not for the keepers of the land. F-ing bullshit

Hard to catch fish that aren't there. If ALL groups are willing to take part then this can be seen as a positive. Lived my whole life around here and you can't catch what is no longer there. Let the stocks come back,

Re: Entire Skeena Watershed closed indefinitely for Chinook and no one seems to care
Sure , It would make sense and science would back that to except for that one thing- ALL GROUPS are Not willing to take part, only take. Same goes for moose hunting ect ect. Facts are the fish and game numbers of today cannot survive on harvest rules set hundreds of years ago. Just because you can doesn't mean that you should. Keepers, stewards of the lands??? Mono gillnets in spawning events speaks loud the truth of purpose as does not governing's the count of your own, which would be solid steel and a backbone for all to see raw leadership stand tall- something Very lacking in Canada these days. Not sure if I'll live long enough to ever see that Lol

Correct, and they have to do some predator control, at least in the short term.
