Re: Nov 2017 Mule Deer Hunt
Nice buck for sure. Learned a long time ago once you leave pavement be ready. Can see game going in, coming out and anywhere in between at any time. Partner shot a buck we got him in the Jeep. I locked my gun up as we were heading home. Down the road a 1/4 mile there was a nice one just standing there. Gun in back, time you get it out unlocked etc deer walks off. So always need to be ready.

Awesome job and thanks for the great story. Now you're hooked for life man. But its the good kind of addiction that you don't really want to kick
Re: Nov 2017 Mule Deer Hunt
Thanks for the comments guys!
I updated the thread with the skull after it was cleaned.
So that's another topic, cleaning skulls.
I learned sooo much after that experience.
The next time I do it, I will not over boil and I will wrap the antlers WAYYY better.
Overall, I was happy with the job I did but I did do a bunch of damage to the bone from the hard boiling and lost some color on the antler a bit as you can see near the base.

Re: Nov 2017 Mule Deer Hunt
Nice story and Buck. Love the Euro
Be careful if doing a early Elk/Mule hunt then a late mule hunt this yer as the regs have changed with only one Mule Deer total for several regions. Consult your regulations.
