This is epic, great work! BC bighorn hunting is a marathon of continuous hard work. Your determination to get it done is seriously motivating. I will do this.
cheers

Some people just dont believe in it at all .... and I think that's just wrong. I know there will come a day when I no longer can hunt and when my memory starts to fade. The wall of 8x10s tells a story I will always look back on and reminisce :)
Mounts and racks on the wall are great, but looking at a mount you cant tell where he came from. You cant tell the time of day. You cant tell what the weather was like. A photo contains those important details. I remember most of them now, but I know there will be a time when that memory will start to fade.
I dont imagine it has ever taken me more than 10 minutes to balance my phone with a rock/stick and snap a few pictures.
Having said that, my biggest buck to date was an early season alpine buck that tumbled into an incredibly steep creek and I had no possible way to take a photo with him before he was cut up and packed out .... I regret it deeply.
I totally agree, good field pictures and presence in modern day times could be what helps keep hunting around. Bad pictures is what could get hunting closed for good.
I keep my tripod in my pack all the time now with a quick adapter for my camera to sit on and a bluetooth remote in my back.

Would love to see the video when it's out. Good luck on this year's adventure! Curious if you guys will be in the same general area as Jay (mindfulhunter).

Great write up for a great season. I enjoyed the podcast as well. Stories like this help with the cold dark winters, and stoke the desire to be in the wilderness.
