Wind socks painting?

Hey Fowlers,
ive added a number of wind socks to my spread. Econo plain whites, any of you ever paint the white socks like material for the black wing tips for snows, or grey for the juveniles ...... Or maybe black felt pen, but wondering if it runs into the material making a blur.

Wishing I could find better deals. Got near 400 for the spread so far now, Canada's and Snows, going to be a fun shoot in Saskabush again.
