Are there any local field dog clubs? Once and if this social distancing ever goes away.
Shoot me a PM if anyone has any info or would be interested in having a tag along to help/ learn with my dog locally.
Check out TNT Kennels in Abbotsford. As well as obedience, rally, etc. Janice Gunn also trains for and runs hunt tests. They may run classes at their facility or be able to point you towards a club in your area.
Two additional resources for clubs -
CKC clubs - National Retriever Club of Canada (nrcc-canada.com) ..... although it is the schedule for the 2020 field trial season, it shows the BC clubs and the contact information for them.
HRC club - Welcome to Hunting Retriever Club, Inc.
You may or may not be interested in running tests or trials but clubs hold training days which would give you the opportunity to meet other members and possible training partners.
