Kid got her moose draw and now kid has her moose.
Candace has only recently, 4 years, caught the hunting bug.
With her Grandfather offering his rifle as an early inheritance, she was ready to learn the ropes.
We have managed a couple bucks for her early in her career.
This year she won the coveted moose draw.
This would be her primary focus with work and all.
She took a week from work and hit the ground hard on Sunday.
They missed one on day one by 1/2 an hour, the successful hunter shared.
Frustration was setting in Tues with no sightings, but perseverance paid off today.
I'm proud, as is her Grandfather, his Browning BAR is being utilized, 7mm mag, double lung and down.
I hope you enjoy pictures.
Cheers

Thanks guys, I’m proud like a father and I see Candace as family, but I only first met her when she was 7, we all need inherit a friends kid just to work our phones sometimes.lol
i love her like a daughter
The ole Browning BAR , long and heavy, good recoil pad and with it being a semi automatic , the recoil is quite light.
She favours this gun and grampa , who is still with us, got the call that she barked again today.
He is proud, and I know you get it Dana, Savage 99 in 300 isn’t it? I read enough threads, your son just recently used.

Congrats to her. Thanks for sharing; short and sweet story, I like it.
No intention of hijacking this thread but I have a genuine question. Would that be considered a legal spike fork as per definition of "no more than two tines on one side"?

Re: Kid got her moose draw and now kid has her moose.
Congratulations on a great moose, I've never been lucky enough to draw the moose tag in our region and I've never shot a moose. Way to go.

Re: Kid got her moose draw and now kid has her moose.
This is why I like the LEH system, it gives a person a reason to apply for LEH as close as to where you live as possible.
Jel -- those antlers will remain a constant reminder of the fond memories over the decades -- you deserved the chance to get lucky on LEH - you followed thru

Re: Kid got her moose draw and now kid has her moose.

Its extremely close to a Fork, but too close for me to call.
Having the limited entry is the comfort zone.
I have seen a minimal of moose threads this year, might add elk and deer to the list.
Early youth season produced some deer, but it appears this was a soft year in comparison to previous years.
Others feel the same?

Re: Kid got her moose draw and now kid has her moose.
Good on you Blainer for mentoring an awesome young hunter. And, like you say, you get phone tech support too.
Great post. I really enjoy the posts with the young hunters getting it done.
I think it might be a legal spike fork but nice you didn't have to make that call in the field.
