It was a good season. Two particularly nice roosters. 34 and 37 bars. Both around 23 1/2” tails. Winchester 1200 pump in use from 1970. Jansen Sons and Co. hammer double. Family gun restored to use this year. Original owner born 1843. I think Jannsen started around 1867. This gun probably made late 1800s or very early 1900s. 2 1/2 chambers. Used RST #6 shot for this rooster. The 1200 is first gun I purchased as a young man. I can shoot many others but that one makes it afield far more than the others.

Great photos of magnificent birds. Cool shotguns you have history with too!

Sweet.
What part of Saskatchewan?
Re: Wild Saskatchewan Pheasants
Nice Roosters. Those Wild ones are so much more challenging and rewarding. Nice Shot as well. Thanks for sharing.

Wild pheasants range across the southernmost part of Saskatchewan. They are from US border to about 70 miles north. After a lifetime of hunting I have settled on just chasing wild pheasants. Sold off all rifles and kept a few shotguns.
