Re: Pellet Grill Turkey???
does it have a rotisserie? I've bbq'd 5 or 6 turkeys but on a rotisserie. they have all turned out well. I'm not familiar with pellet grills but there is probably a you-tube on it.
Re: Pellet Grill Turkey???
I've done several on my Traeger. Delicious. Smoked turkey is the best.
Turkey brine:http://allrecipes.com/recipe/85839/o...-turkey-brine/
- 2 gallons water
- 1 1/2 cups canning salt
- 3 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
brined for 24 hours, rinse, pat dry.
inject with herb butter (sage and rosemary)
slather with butter, and sprinkle a bit of dry rub to give the skin salt
into the smoker at 325. start checking at 1:45, last one was over done at 2:30
tent for 30 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
Re: Pellet Grill Turkey???
I just put my brined turkey into my bradley smoker a few minutes ago. I have done them in there before and they were good but they take a long time with temps maxing out at about 300 f.
Dont see why you wouldnt be able to do a turkey on a pellet grill if you can get indirect heat. Use a probe thermometer and watch internal temps.

Re: Pellet Grill Turkey???
More of a taste concern, and the temp fall-off is different than in a "regular" oven (which might actually be an advantage?). But from the above responses this is a go. Looking forward to this experiment....
