I know the hair bunches up on the wyoming knife... not a fan
The outdoor edge is pretty slick looking, sold a lot, never used one though

I have the flip n blaze love it
I own a Benchmade Steep Country (no hook), it's a great knife and I believe they do a model with a hook.
I used the Havalon gut hook for the first time this year and it opens them up like a zipper!
Brad
Second for having gut hook! Insanely efficient. Throw a bone saw on the other side, or a fillet knife and you're in business.
I bought one of those zip-pros on Boxing Weeks sale at Cabela's. Look forward to using it. Sure looked good on the commercials.
I’ve tried several knives with the gut hook on the back of the blade over the years. I’ve never found one that works as I think it should. I’ve tried a Wyoming knife, better than the gut hooks, but still just “meh”, same with a Gerber version that I tried. I haven’t tried the outdoor edge one (just a blade without a point) yet, but it looks like it’ll work, the havalon is the same idea I think.
The outdoor edge “razor pro” is one that I’ve been considering. Looks slick, but it’s getting pretty hard to justify more knives.....
As far as gut hooks go you can't beat the Swingblade.
I've used a bunch of different ones over the years.
Swingblade opens hides like a hot knife through butter.
Watch a few YouTube videos and you'll see.
