Hunting dates were Sep 13-18, which is pre-rut in west-central Alberta.
I was hunting in WMU 349, NW of Whitecourt, in the Swan Hills region.
My crossbow is an Excalibur Bulldog 400, and I was using 20" Carbon Express Piledriver bolts @ 442grs. Broadhead is the Excalibur Boltcutter, 150gr 3-blade. That combination chronographs at 330fps.
That broadhead did not cut a very big entrance/exit hole, but literally zipped right through my bull moose. I think the thing went another 10 yards off into the trees actually, I was unable to recover the bolt.
I intend to go back another day if I can find a metal detector to borrow.

I can safely say the best tasting moose I've ever eaten!
