Transporting meat from Fort St. John
Advice would be much appreciated.
I have planned an Elk hunt with the option of Bison hunting west of FSJ in 3rd week of September. My outfitter can connect me with a butcher in FSJ, so that’s not a concern. There are several Butchers on the list on this site as well so I don’t see that as a problem. I’m planning on flying up and back.
In the past I have transported Meat that was cut, packed and chilled Using coolers on the plane. If I’m successful this may not work as the meat won’t be available By flight time and The quantity/weight may be Excessive
Is anyone aware of trucking companies that would haul meat back to the lower mainland? Other ideas?
Granted I’m being optimistic, but I’d like to be prepared rather than trying to figure out a solution on the spot.
thanks in advance
Phil

Deep freezer in the back of a truck with a ratchet strap to help it stay closed with a generator plugged in and ran every few hours to keep it frozen?
