Another study just concluded that their close proximity to Vancouver led to gluten intolerance and lack of common sense compared to their Northern cousins.
They have summer prey, but are still skinny, so what is up ?
This killer whale over analysis is entertaining and there are study groups that are receiving incredible grant money (that we pay for).
Populations fluctuate of all species, that's a given.
68 recorded whales in 1976.
98 whales in 1995.
Population declined to 78 in 2000.
89 in 2006.
74 in 2020.
Wrote a letter to the Times Colonist over this..the ‘experts’ managed to shut down the whole recreational salmon fishery over completely flawed information..they decimated the industry...will DFO now admit they totally blew it and give us our fishery back? Concentrate on stream enhancement and hatcheries and get more fish in the system instead of shutting us down?
Coming from a business background I quickly learned that if you want something F*cked up put in the hands of government.
We have the ability to make more fish rather than regulating every aspect of the resource as the solution as it continues to decline for the most part.
Wildlife challenges are in the same boat.
I'd like to put killer whales on the menu
Rather eat a coho.
