Ice is finally thick enough, as I walk out 7, 7, 5 and 4" far enough. Friday's fish was 34" 14lbs with a 12" rainbow and a 8" rainbow inside it. Pot bellied pig. Caught and ate a 27 incher wed.

Nice work - that's a fatty! What were you using to catch them and how far down were you catching them? Horsefly lake?
absolutely beautiful..well done TIGGR..
cheers
steven
Well done, he's a tank!
There is only two lakes with lake trout near Horsefly. Pick one!! 50 feet of water on a swimbait attached to a jig you can no longer get.
Anything looking like a kokanee works. Some are fairing well on 3 and 4" silver buzz bombs.
I will wait a week before going back out. Luner mooner is real.

Think these would work Tigrr?
Very nice!!!
Curious, I haven’t caught lake trout, or so long ago I can’t remember.
How do they taste?
Comparsble to Rainbows, better or worse?
Get a new copy of the regs. There are new lakes where no ice fishing is allowed.
Lake trout have more fat/oil than rainbows. But all those omega 3's are good for you. I could eat lake trout 4 days a week if I had them.
Some other lake changes are barbless hooks. Catch 4 get one up to the hole.
Some times I catch fish on small 4" swimbaits and other times they want a 6" white tube jig.
Skunked yesterday.
I'll try and lay out my arsenal and snap a pick. I have them drying now so they don't rust.
