Re: What do you use for grouse?
.22 scoped deadly to almost 100 yards
Re: What do you use for grouse?
.17 HMR with 20 grain Hornady, always go for head/neck shots 50+ yards
Re: What do you use for grouse?
I've shot a few with my Ruger 10/22 but took a liking to Mossberg Maverick 88 12 gauge with #4 - #5, 1 & 1/8oz shot... works much better for winging them and shooting them out of trees than the 22 :)
Re: What do you use for grouse?
always used a 12 gauge mod choke and 7 1/2...trick was to aim high and only get the head with a couple of bb's....know your spray pattern and you will not be picking lead out of the meat...
ps….always nice to see the next gen of hunters
Re: What do you use for grouse?
.22LR savage mark 2 with vortex 4-18 crossfire 2
I have thought about buying a 20ga...
Re: What do you use for grouse?
Cooey 600 with iron sights. Nothing fancy.
Re: What do you use for grouse?
I kinda liked the way my late Father In Law used to hunt them - with a hockey stick.
He would say "they don't call them fool hens for nothing."
Re: What do you use for grouse?
Lakefield single-shot with 4x scope, its the rifle my dad bought me when I was 12 and I have since refinished it.
Re: What do you use for grouse?
