Went for a birthday picnic with Mrs. to White rock yesterday.
Does anyone know why there is such mortality of small to medium-size crabs there? Lots of carcasses around.
Sure a lot of people digging clams at the low tide line too.

Are they bodies or molted shells? There has been some really low tides during mid day. Perhaps some have been trapped and baked by the sun.
Climate change
Jazzy or Pemby Mess will KNOW ! RJ
Crabs seem to be molting right now, probably just the cast off shells
They probably choked on toilet paper :)
were they undersized in a small local area or all different sizes and all over the place?
They were on average all about 4 to 5-inch across the shell and scattered mostly in the eel grass at the low tide edge.
