Re: 24hour Gas stations on the way to Northern BC?
Thanks guys...rough schedual puts us in Ft Nelson at 3am...gas opens at 5am....considering im just coming off nightshift and then driving 24 hrs...a couple hours sleep waiting for gas isnt the end of the world..if we think we can make it to Tetsa then we might risk it...we'll have a good idea on the actual range by then.
Todbartell its a small tank but buddy says it should do 550 per tank.

Re: 24hour Gas stations on the way to Northern BC?
Just try not to fuel up in Pink Mountain- that guy is a frigging scheister. Charges as much or more than downtown Van for gas. I bring jerries just to get me past him.
Re: 24hour Gas stations on the way to Northern BC?
Just came back from Toad River. If there is no 24 hour service in Fort Nelson the last place with one would be Fort St John. FYI the fuel in Fort Nelson was cheaper than Fort St John. Not sure about Toad River price but it will definitely be cheaper than Muncho. Toad River closes at 9PM. The only place that might be open later is Wonowon.

Not sure about 24 hr. Gas was 1.21 in Ft Nelson. Jerry cans would be handy there as gas sky rockets north of there. Toad gas was $$$.
Warm delicious cinnamon buns in Tetsa! A must buy.
Re: 24hour Gas stations on the way to Northern BC?
Bring enough jerry cans for a full fill up. Once your passed john the world is on a different schedule.

I have had a couple newer full-size company vehicles over the last few years and have not been impressed with the fuel consumption. My Dodge 5.7 3500 is lucky to get 20l per 100km with a trailer, and the Chev wasn't much better.
They did great in top gear with a tail wind and no load, sometimes down to 13l/100km, but left me estimating full tank range off highway at close to 400km in 4wd.
Friends with newer half tons seem to do much better, but don't have the capacity, etc.

So if I had to guess he is driving a full size RAM 3500 with a 5.7 gas engine, and has about the same range I do.
