Golden BC- Columbia River
Hello! Heading to the Columbia river around Golden at the end of the month.. I have never fished there before. Any tips on good areas to start? Was thinking between Blaeberry and Donald? Or??? I hear the fishing for Rainbow at this time is great as its exempt from the spring closure....

100 views and no one has been there? Or its really good and zippermouth? Or it sucks? Or too far out of the way???

I think alot of guys go missing in that area this time of year, I think the fishing is pretty good though.

Any fish I have ever caught in the lower Columbia was for pictures only. I wouldn't eat them. There is a recommendation of how many ounces of fish a week you can eat. Different amounts for different fish. This was around Castlegar though.
It wouldn't surprise me if no one has been there. Fairly remote to most. The fish might be ok due to it being the head waters of the Columbia river. Good luck!

Well, I spent 3 full days fly fishing the Columbia River in Golden. It didn’t take long to find some great spots, and I didn’t end up missing! Water levels and condition were perfect for this time of year. Caught a pile of of 1-2lb rainbows. I don’t believe the big ones are in there from Kinbasket quite yet. I did however manage to land a nice Bull Trout (which happens to be my favourite fish). There is alot more river to explore, so I will be back!
Cheers
