Best bang for your buck in hunting boots?

I could use a new pair of lighter weight, waterproof hunting boots, this year or next. I've got another pair of Merrells on order because my last pair are starting to leak after 3-4 years but these are more of a mid height water proof hiking shoe. I like them for early season hunting but when it gets to mid or late season, colder wetter weather they won't cut it. My higher leather hunting boots are OK but I'm thinking of something better.

Any recommendations,,,,,,what is a good boot for a good price (how much $) and where would I buy them?

I just retired an old pair of hiking boots I've had since the mid 1980's believe it or not! Dachstein or Raichle, don't recall, the logo wore off years ago. Don't make them with this kind of leather any more. Kept them water resistant by regular applications of Dubbin. Had them at the cobbler numerous times to keep them in service, but finally blew the sole beyond reasonable repair on a moose hunt in late September.

Anyhow, the replacements are a new pair of Meindl Island MFS Active boots. Purchased at Fisher's Hardware in Vernon $380. Under Meindl's classification system they're B/C - "ambitious trekking in low alpine ranges and on fixed rope routes (light irons possible)". Broke them in yesterday morning in pursuit of ungulates hiking the Okanagan High Rim Trail near Oyama Lake. Very comfy, no blisters, I like 'em. If they last 1/4 of the years of the retired dogs, they will outlast me...

I bought some hanwags this summer. They took awhile to break in but now they are great and give excellent support when hiking with a load on!!!

I got scarpa kenisis gtx in early spring and absolutely love them.

Lowa Tibet Gtx...most comfortable boot I've ever owned.

Scarpa, best investment I have made in equipment yet.
