Bushnell fire-fly confusion

So my dad has a Bushnell 3200 3-9x40 with firefly reticle .... purchased sometime in 2010.
I'm trying to find one like that, but it seems that his firefly reticle is quite a bit different than most.

Below is what the firefly is advertised like .... but what his looks like is more like the German #4, but with a heavy post up top as well. The reason i like it is because it has very fat outer posts and a thin inner cross hair.
So, does anyone know if they made two different styles of firefly reticle or what? Also, anyone know why Bushnell phased them out as I don't see it in the line up for the new 3500 line.
