LOL he's beating me so far in the biggest fish department: he reeled in this 17" rainbow himself...

Awesome stuff Harry!! Fishin seems to bring out the biggest smiles in kids. I also have a 6 year old, she’s turning into quite a fishaholic.

Great fishing around princeton right off the dock....
Might be heading out for a little fishing next weekend (finally) been so long. Too much to do in so little time... makes me want to play lotto.
Instead of remote hike in float tube fishing, I decided to change careers and move this spring. With all the packing and moving in two places I don’t even know where my gear is. I did find my whiskey glass though . . .
Looks like some fine shore lunch there 2lips
Harry, that’s one sick 250!
the last generation of real trucks right there.
Hoping these pics are working here’s a couple good carp from My season so far

how the hell did you get a Carp to take a fly?????
same as you catch a trout find some patterns they are eating and go for it. I get lots of aggressive takes. All sight fishing.
Hit any shallow flat area and toss in front of them, carp bitter and Montana hybrids are some go to patterns or can nymph fish them and swing any good bug pattern on them. Will test your fishing skills as equal to any trout situation
Always good to see the young ones out there getting it done!
Crazy, Sproat lake is loaded with them as well as a pile of local Victoria lakes..... But I have never put a huge thought to them because everything I have been told is they are super spooky and super hard to catch and almost 100% must use bait....... like I am amazed you can sight fish them, I would have though that even the stealthiest line drop would have spooked them.....
This thread makes me want to go fishin... Rainbows sizzlin' in the frying pan, Mmmmm
^^hell yeah, you been out this year yet?
Only way I have ever fished carp was site fishing... they can be very spooky but that's ok. Find their pattern -> direction of travel, lead your cast a ways, wait for them to swim over, and then a couple twitch on you are on. Used super lite line and rod and got my butt kicked multiple times.
Sorry about the sideways pics. Here is a couple of Kokanee from this season.

^^^nice, they look to be of good size...
My wife and I went fishing in the Chilcotin to kick off 2019. We caught 80 RB's in 5 days. Uploading pics to this site is really hard due to file size restriction so sorry it is small and sideways.
Tight lines everyone!

I have to say it's nice seeing so many out there fishing etc.
Also like that many of the BC Interior Lakes for Trout are doing much better again in terms of Management.
We went out here in the Fraser Valley to a lake we used to enjoy (before partying with a backdrop became trendy and social media blew up everything) Last several years I know what to expect, but somehow talk myself into it then wonder what the heck I was thinking. Few found a few minutes of serenity here and there, but can't say it was worth seeing all the garbage, human waste, traffic, "redneck wannabes" (that is actually a thing in the LML) and terrible music blasting until 4AM. Never again... for real this time!!
OH! And never EVER buy a Sevylor Inflatable boat (ie: fish hunter and what not) ... it used to be a good product but the manufacturing and designs changed several years ago. Now they are crazy fragile death traps (last one lasted over a decade and is still not too shabby... new one complete write-off after two uses... valves are crap and vinyl is like 1-ply TP)
Anyway, rant done here's a picture of some mountains and "meat trout" (LOL) we brought home... don't care if they never grow big because we're not going back to "that" place. It's nice to be home. Hopefully we'll be back to our regular fishing circuit soon and I'll sound less like a cranky old man :)

Hmmm 14 days at............ ( ) lake..lol
Flyfishing only..chronomids..with one 23 inch on leech pattern.
48 fish..biggest was over 31 inches released.
Kept 2 fish each 27.5 inches..7.1 pounds. 13.55 inch girth..looked like a steelhead
Dont know how to post photos.
The last rainbow was THE best fight on fly ive experienced...30 foot cast..stripped into backing deep..numerous times
Hmmm ironically caddis hatch was exceptional also.
Special shout out to Dennis from 100 mile house with his chronomid set up...thank you.
Steven
Love the caddis hatches there... so thick they get all over your gear LOL... trout flying high and slapping the surface making it look like the lake is boiling. I always put on my biggest deer / elk hair caddis fly and smack it around on the surface a bit... even if there's 100000 other flies to pick from they always hit mine. I've had a couple smack it before it hits the water, either while casting not realizing it's dangling close to the water while I'm releasing another fish. One lake in particular... not going to name it but I bet you know it better than I do :)
Great work everyone, looks like you folks are slaying them out there...
Did someone say Caddis?
Been tying these in the off season and ready to get them wet (I know, I am a little late)

And then a few more that I like to use (Although Pheasant Tail Mayfly is missing)
