You might do OK tossing a rainbow crocodile near the creek mouths. Some good cutthroat in there and lots of 12-14" Rainbows. I prefer the smaller lakes and the streams when they come into shape.
Thanks sounds good to me.
Dangling a worm close to the bottom under a float or letting a worm lay on the bottom without a float off the creek mouths this time of year can be quite productive in both these lakes. You may only get a bite once every half hour but they are usually a good sized fish, some very large ie. dolly varden that you must release. Start a campfire and enjoy your time there on a nice day.
I have had good luck with worms on the bottom and pink power eggs also.
You're on the right track.
Used to hit Buttle not far below the bridge in the winter years back. Caught some nice cutties casting a red and brass croc, best fishing was when the water's fairly low.
thanks for all the info
I agree that fishing is better when the water is at a lower level and the creeks not rushing. Casting a small curvette spoon (brass with some white and yellow spots) around the stumps can be good in March when the cutties are chasing sticklebacks.
