Well the first of the season we headed out to our old spot, At the end of the trip we came home with some good deer, One of the better trips we've had especially for good bucks in the early season. The one on the left is mine!, they were no light weights either the one the left was 161lbs ,center was 117lbs,and the one on the right was 172lbs on the hooks. So were trying a new area out in november hopefully we'll get a couple more good bucks. Mark.L

The one in the middle is a small 3 by 4 ,We got him and the 4 point on the left at the same time they were standing in a slash together. We saw 147 deer and 18 moose in 10 days 24 bucks but only one bull moose swamper figured it was about 40".

The one on the right was shot right through the eyes he was standing about 60 yards away and the bullet went in one eye and out the other, he went down like a ton bricks(didn't see a thing either) lol!

Hey Rob, so typical that only the big (smart) ones can hide where the signs say no shooting....I have been trying to work a few extra nite shifts here, to see exactly what is out, and it is a very good year for bucks around here....Unfortunately, yes they are Black tails (peperoni deer...)

I've spent some time in that francois lake area and I seen lots of deer down the east end by francois lake resort and birch bay. Seen a few decent bucks too. I used to go out there in the summer to go fishing before I moved south.

Shit, I haven't been out there in about 8 years, but I didn't realize it's getting totally
F#^Ked. So you like the performance on that .458 or are you going BIGGER?

bone-collector
10-15-2004, 07:23 PM
not to hijack a thread to bad  sorry guys, but no I will keep it at the 458 level , after seeing what it did to that moose even I cant justify anything more other than a 50 cal BMG 3 mile sniper rifle or a bazooka  and yes the lake has changed big time, there is pavement all the way from the feery on southside to whistirea hall now, only a few more kms and she will be paved all the way around

I've got a No.1 international with the tang safty in 270 win. Rugers are great guns.
