Cannot edit post.

When I click on edit, it opens up a blank page. The original post is not there.

It's some glitch in the system, usually when you use something funny like a :)

Just add another post or if you need something deleted, PM me.

I cant edit my posts any longer...so if there are mistakes, typing or forgotten words or additions to be made...how is one supposed to do this now

IF you use characters like &^&^%$$#@@%
it will bomb.

I wanted to edit to add information............. but when you click edit post it deletes everything..........yes it seems to be fixed now on this post but not the original post I wanted to edit...still doesn't work

Testing by posting this text and then I will see if I can edit it...

Done... clicked on edit and I get a page where I can delete this post or edit this text...

I had the same occurance as Whynot and Newhunterette.
It seems to be working fine now.

Ok was just shown this trick open your original post then open a second HBC page to your post. Hit edit when you get your blank edit window copy and paste the original post to the blank window, make your corrections and hit save. CAUTION don't do this on the for sale posts it will bump your post back to the top and if its before the 7 day bump you will be in HUGE KA-KA :mrgreen:.. just pulling your chain Steelco LMFatAO

The same issue occurs when asking to preview a post. ie the original text disappears.

Now I have a weird one happening. If I go to edit a post I can see all the text AND I can type in my corrections/edits but none of the buttons to "save", "go advanced", "cancel" etc will work at all?

This just started last night. Only thing I can do at that point is scroll up and just click to go back to the forum as the buttons do nada.

Then get off post by hitting forum or another page then go back to the post and it will work after the first try

I have had this problem on and off for a couple months. Seems one day I can't edit anything, then it's fine for awhile???

I've tried deleting cookies and restarting the computer. I thought the computer got herpes from all the porn?? I guess not since everyone else has had issues as well.

Just noticed today as I have edited a couple of posts but then also tried editing a couple of others and wasn't able to.

I have noticed that it is in certain threads I CAN edit versus others I can't. For example, can't edit a post in the Hockey Thread (box comes up blank) but in replying to Salty's Mountain Bike thread today I had no problem editing.

One other thing I have noticed and this happened in Salty's thread today. If I type something and hit "post".....the first time I try to edit, it won't save or post the reply with the new info in it. I have to go in to edit a second time which will let me type and save.

Very strange.

If posts have special characters like dollar sign, percent sign, hash mark etc you won't be able to reply with content in it.
Just a software issue.
There is a way to do it though.
Kind of complicated.

Tell Gatehouse to fix that bug already :mrgreen:

Yeah, I have had this issue intermittently for several months...with or without special characters. Sometimes all the text will be there, including the edit, but I get the error message that my post is "too short" (not bloody likely)...

Or I get the blank screen, tried refreshing, tried closing my browser, tried going to new posts and back, nothing works. And yet in another thread it will work just fine..odd.
