And all the goodies to go with it. Island Outfitters should have it in a week or two. John will set it all up and get me shooting it with the basics.

I am lucky to have a big enough yard to set up a safe shooting alley so will start daily practice and try to get ready to meet up with Franko and BowWalker in the new year for a practice day.

I also have to get my butt out to the Vic Fish and Game club to sign up for 2007. I see lots of time being sent there this year on the rifle and archery ranges!

I had signed up for the VicBowmen course but they have cancelled the evening courses and I don't want to committ to 6 Saturdays so will rely on the good graces of others to get me shooting straight in the beginning.

It is the PSE Dakota 50 - 70lb bow, corbra 3 pin sight, peep sight, kisser, whisker biscuit, release, loop, limb savers, doinker, quiver, case, 6 AL arrows, and 6 carbon arrows all tuned, 3 in each with field points, and 3 with broadheads, plus an extra arrow with a judo point for birds, and the bow set up for me at 29" at 55 pounds.

Good choice for a first bow. Forgiving, medium length, plenty of pop, and nicely set up to boot.

Congrats Bill.

Ah Ha! I knew you couldn't wait until February! Congrats!

Interesting combination of arrows. A little comparison will be in order. This should be an interesting excercise. We can have you shoot over the chrony with both the carbon and Al arrows, weigh them up, and calculate the energy at different ranges. A true comparison.

Why not comitt to EITHER the carbon or the Al Bill? Just curious.

If you think I'm gonna take you goose hunting with a bow you're crazier than I thought!

Well the VicBowmen cancelled the course so not much point in waiting since I couldn't get hands on that variety of bows otherwise. And I was favoured with lotso $ in gift cerrts at Island Outfitters so why not??

I will commit to the arrows that work best with my set up.

Dude I figure arrows will be cheaper than banging away a half box to kill the damned things once they are on the ground!!!

Too true. I can see it now...

Shoot the bow, hit the goose. Walk over, pick up the arrow, shoot the goose again. Repeat until goose is pushing up daisies.

If he has it finished in time I'd be into that. Where is the range or are they in the school today? 588-3530 give me a call. Are you at Urban Cup this morning?
