View Full Version : tangle free decoy cord
Its time for me to rerig my decoys. I was also thinking of coming out of the dark ages and going with a texas rig system since I mostly hunt shallow ponds now and don't need a long length of line anymore. Dose anybody use this system with the tangle free cord and how do you find it? it looks like a big time saver when picking up.

One guy I use to hunt with would put a decoy weight at each end of a line. The cord attached to the decoys had salmon snaps (snap swivels probably would work too). That way he just clip a half dozen or so decoys onto the main line.
This rig is good for still water when you don't have to worry about tides and currents.
I think hunter specialties has a coated cord that's a little stiffer.

This is what I had in mind never thought about using mono but I guess it would work.

Use mono. We use 200# test(kiel would have to confirm) and its way cheaper in the Tangle free cord and serves the same purpose.
