My goodness, I thought it would be fairly easy to select duck and goose decoys. It's like buying a vehicle! What make do you want? Do you want leather? What color? Did you want new or used? IT'S CRAZY! I thought going used to get started thus cutting my costs. Most folks want new prices or in some cases more than new prices for used decoys! I think I'm just gonna head out to one of these stores, find the ones I like and buy them. Too frustrating.

Honestly i would love to shop local, but the prices are just absurd.

Most places dont even carry the most basic gear, and ones that do ( full bodies, layouts, etc) are sometimes 300% higher then in the states. I was at an un named retailer today actually That rhymes with no sale sports and they had hidgon full bodies for $189 plus tax for 4 (non HD). Msrp in the US is $99 and ive seen them on clearence for as low as $69 for 4.

Very few birds will know the difference.

Mr Parker Not sure if I understand who you mean ha ha, but you speak the truth. Defiantly look south or wait for sale at this countries name tire store. Start with a dozen and build up.

step 4....drive to the store and pick them up (order them to the store to pick up to be sure they have them), fill up on .88/litre gas and everything else that the toy store sells!

Option B since you live in mission, have them sent to ship happens...

As for dealing with variety, pick whatever appeals to you in both look and cost. We like GreenHeadGear decoys. For geese we hunt over GHG FFD honker fullbodies as I find geese hate anything that shines, and we tend to goose hunt in fair weather so it makes sense.... For ducks we hunt over GHG Life-Size mallard and widgeon floaters... Paint durability isnt the best it seems with GHG deeks, but we have slotted bags for everything and all the deeks still look brand new years later.

I hunt over ffd lessers. However, lots of geese were killed prior to fully flocked dekes. lol

GHG all the way. My secret weapon is a half dozen early season teal floating a couple feet from a pair of tanglefree swans. I don't even get passes anymore, they just scream right into the spread feet down. Pic is my pack-in spread. Two feeder teal, four drake wig on a jerkline, two hen mallards and the swans. Shot 12 birds in a half hour over this spread.

In that chunk of wood or cork that is a decoy lies man's attempt to imitate nature, to fit in with her schemes so perfectly that a beautiful, wise, wild creature will be lured to a hunter.

More than any other symbol of waterfowling, the decoy is the essence of its charm and intrigue.
